In conjunction with the Blade Runner sequel that will be in cinemas next week (which is, by all accounts, a masterpiece), board game publisher WizKids (of Heroclix fame) has announced a new deduction game based on Blade Runner 2049.

Designed by Jesse Wright and Travis R. Chance, Blade Runner 2049: Nexus Protocol will have detectives, citizens, and Deckard compete to figure out who is a replicant posing as a human. There will always be a replicant in the group, but not even the replicant will know which player it is.

Using their influence to meet contacts, gather information, and reveal evidence, players will try to uncover the replicant. If you find out that you are the replicant, you’ll have to come up with a way of concealing your identity to avoid being “retired” by the other players, who are gunning for you.

Blade Runner 2049: Nexus Protocol is designed for 3 to 6 players and your average game will take about 45 minutes. Game content includes 63 card, 7 standees and a rule booklet. Retailers will be able to pre-order from the end of this month, with a full game release in January 2018.

Will you find the replicant, or will you be retired?
