The wired Logitech G335 headset in mint colour.

Logitech has always made good gaming gear, with their headsets being seen as some of the best in the business, but they’ve always had one flaw: As solid as their audio output may be, they haven’t been visually memorable in a market filled with plenty of competition.

In an industry where looks actually do matter, despite what your mom told you when you were young, Logitech’s gear struggled to stand out from the pack. Things changed last year with the release of the Logitech G733 wireless headset, and for those of you looking for a cheaper wired alternative, good news!

Logitech’s G335 doesn’t just retain that fresher and funkier aesthetic, it’s got a comfortable design with some surprisingly good audio tucked inside its budget appeal.

A lengthy 3.55mm cable doubles as a lifeline for power into your PC, Switch, Xbox or PlayStation console, and also a handy distraction for your cat. Sometimes even both! As for the colours, you’ve got a choice of black, white with blue trim, and mint with lavender highlights.

It’s worth noting that there’s no internal arm for you to adjust on the plastic bridge, just a headband inside of it that can be adjusted to make the cans sit more comfortably on your noggin. It’s a simple trick, but one that does a surprisingly effective job.

As for the cans themselves, Logitech has opted for a very cushy wrap for its audio-delivery device, each side featuring an extremely comfortable vice-grip using memory foam and material padding. Sound is driven straight into your head using 40 mm neodymium drivers to deliver the illusion of a surround sound effect.

This headset doesn’t offer advanced audio technology or spatial positioning, but it makes up for that with a crisp and clear sound. The headset doesn’t over-emphasize bass notes either, all of which is controlled by a roller on the side that has just enough give for you to switch between whisper-quiet noise or a booming rock concert level of noise.

As for the microphone, it’s flippable, Discord-certified, and offers a decent transmission of your voice online, but don’t expect more than that. One handy thing to note though is that it automatically mutes itself when flipped back up, which is a nice touch.

Logitech G335 Wired Headset review

Combined with its light-as-a-feather construction, the G335 is a headset built to be both reliable and affordable. It’s comfortable enough to be worn all day, its aesthetic allows it to look great on a livestream, and while it may not be packed with as many features as a more high-end headset, its bank budget-friendly offerings still provide plenty of audio bang for your buck.
