And here we are. The regeneration is complete. Welcome to Pfangirl.com, a new online home for pop culture perspectives.

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, arms outstretched as hosts of an awards sow.

Here you can find reviews, features, opinion pieces and the occasional piece of news that we feel will benefit from our own unique viewpoint. There are already around 350 re-uploaded pieces of our previous work, and you can look forward to loads more, starting today.

Film, TV, gaming, comics, tech, collectibles, cosplay and geek lifestyle all have a place here, but we’re not limited to those topics. Pfangirl.com is passion driven, so we’ll be covering what interests us, what excites us and what intrigues us. That could honestly be anything.

We work full-time jobs around the site, so we’re not going to be providing hot takes on everything. But A) Who really wants that? And, B) We just can’t. That said, this project is born out of a compulsion to keep doing what we love, and have been doing for a decade and longer. As such, we’ll be experimenting with models to help us work smart, not unnecessarily hard.

For example, follow @PfangirlReviews on Twitter for the expected automated feed of articles, in addition to 280-character snippets of news that catch our eye. We may not be able to write coverage for everything, but we can help to keep you updated about big game announcements, movie trailer debuts and so on. There also is a Facebook page.

Outlining our plans

Well, there’s always the About section if you want to learn more about the guiding principles behind Pfangirl.com. Without following that link, though, if there’s an existing online model for the site, probably the closest comparison is The Mary Sue.

Pfangirl.com is for all fans, regardless of how they identify. We’re inclusivity minded, conscious of representation, and we’re trying to get better at enhancing the accessibility of our content too.

Obviously, big releases across the pop culture spectrum will be discussed, but Pfangirl.com is also intended as a space to spotlight the little guy – think indie games, creator-owned comics, self-publishers and the like. We encourage creators to reach out to us with your projects. We can’t guarantee coverage, but if your work hooks us, there is a place to talk about it here. Fairly and ethically.

In fact, we encourage everyone to reach out. Pfangirl.com is always open to input from readers to shape site content. Is there a specific TV series you’d love to hear our thoughts on? What upcoming or new game are you interested in learning more about? Let us know via comments, social media or private message.

This is probably the part where we’re supposed to slip into shameless self-promotion mode, and hype “Exciting Things Ahead.” And yes, you should see some familiar names and faces on here in future. More importantly, though, we’ll be working to consistently deliver insights with integrity and professionalism.

Before we get back to it

Please bear with us while we iron out some set-up niggles. This site was born of necessity, in response to unexpected events. We’ve only had a few weeks to get it up and running (refurbishing an already owned but out-of-date online portfolio). During that time we were dealing with the distress of what happened, plus our country was on fire. Both are pretty distracting, so Pfangirl.com is still a work in progress.

Thank you in advance for your patience and support. You’ll help a lot simply by spreading the word about Pfangirl.com. Other than that, we hope you have a good time here, discover new projects and encounter fresh critiques to mull over.
