A24 has always killed it with their off-the-wall, artistic horror films, and the entertainment company’s latest adventure looks like it might be their weirdest one yet. Supernatural folktale Lamb has already debuted at Cannes Film Festival and will be heading for worldwide theatres on October 8.
Lamb has already been generating a lot of buzz at Cannes, with critics praising it as “hypnotic”, “moody” and “disturbing” – which sounds just about right for an A24 horror. So, for fans of Hereditary, Midsommar and The Witch, here’s the official trailer for Lamb.
Starring Noomi Rapace, Hilmir Snær Guðnason, Björn Hlynur Haraldsson and Ingvar Sigurðsson, Lamb follows a childless couple in rural Iceland who makes an alarming discovery in their sheep barn. After defying the will of nature in an attempt to heal their pain, they soon face dark and malevolent consequences.
Making his feature debut is director Valdimar Jóhannsson, who also wrote the script with Icelandic poet Sjón. “Lamb” is produced by Hrönn Kristinsdóttir, Sara Nassim, Piodor Gustafsson, Erik Rydell, Klaudia Smieja-Rostworowska and Jan Naszewski.
