Though South Africa has now entered spring, not autumn, there’s no escaping the fact that it’s officially spooky season in terms of entertainment offerings. Just check out the first movie release of the week below.

That said, it’s simply one of three notable films making its debut on the big screen this week. That’s in addition to Bollywood actioner The Greatest of All Time, and the truly special opportunity to watch the original Terminator on the big screen as part of Ster Kinekor’s Throwback Cinema series.

Hands down, your pick of the week is Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, with filmmaker Tim Burton revisiting the 1988 supernatural comedy that jumpstarted his blockbuster career. Most of the original cast is back for the sequel as well – including Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, and Catherine O’Hara – while Justin Theroux, Monica Bellucci, Jenna Ortega and Willem Dafoe join the kooky universe, where Life meets Afterlife. It all starts when the Deetz family must return home to Winter River after a tragedy.

Look out for our Beetlejuice Beetlejuice review before the end of the week. And here it is.
