Superhero action, a feel-good comedy drama and family animated adventure. If you look at the cinema release schedule, you’ll often see this genre mix, making sure everyone has something new to watch on the big screen. This week is no different, with the bonus offering of Pulp Fiction as part of Ster Kinekor’s Throwback Cinema offering.

Now let’s look a little closer at each of the new films making their debut.

All “good” things come to an end. Whether you love or hate Sony’s Venom films, there’s no denying how popular these Spider-Man spin-offs are, and Venom: The Last Dance wraps up the three-part saga of disgraced journalist Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) and Venom, the alien symbiote using Eddie as its host. On the run from Venom’s powerful creator and Earth’s military, the duo are forced into a devastating decision. Also starring Chiwetel Ejiofor, Juno Temple, and Rhys Ifans.

Comedy drama Goodrich puts the complications of family front and centre, with art gallery owner Andy Goodrich (Michael Keaton) forced to enlist the help of his estranged daughter Grace (Mila Kunis), from his first marriage, after his second wife leaves him with their young children and enters rehab. It’s a situation that forces Andy to evolve into the dad Grace never had, producing complicated feelings. Also with Andie MacDowell, Carmen Ejogo, and Kevin Pollak.

Gracie and Pedro: Pets to the Rescue is an animated buddy comedy in which purebred pooch Gracie and rescue cat Pedro must rely on each other when they get separated from their family during a big move. Despite their frequent bickering, the pair must undertake a daunting quest to reunite with their humans, meeting various colourful characters along the way. Said supporting cast is voiced by the likes of Bill Nighy, Susan Sarandon, Brooke Shields, Alicia Silverstone and Danny Trejo.
