Make way for Pixar (and Disney). Pretty much only two new movies have the courage to open this weekend against highly anticipated sequel Inside Out 2.
That said, in terms of more niche offerings, your other big screen options from this Friday are a new Bollywood biopic; a recording of a performance from The Royal Opera; the return of Oscar-winning Gladiator as Ster Kinekor’s Throwback Cinema rerelease for the next week; and documentary feature Wild Zambezi: Episode 2 – Protectors of the Park.
Make room for new emotions in Inside Out 2, the sequel to Pixar’s acclaimed animated hit from 2015. The film takes audiences back into the mind of now 13-year-old Riley, where Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear and Disgust – voiced by Amy Poehler, Phyllis Smith, Lewis Black, Tony Hale, and Liza Lapira – are joined by new, more complex emotions, led by Anxiety (Maya Hawke). This leads to a power struggle at the Control Console, and unwanted consequences for Riley in reality.
