Making up for last week’s release lull, this Friday we have three high profile new films hitting the big screen. This is in addition to Bollywood drama Sarfira, the Throwback Cinema re-release of tear-jerker Steel Magnolias, and football-themed anime Blue Lock The Movie: Episode Nagi (which you can also book for here).

It’s been almost 30 years since disaster hit Twister released. Now there’s a whole new generation of storm chasers in Twisters. From Lee Isaac Chung, the Oscar-nominated writer-director of Minari, Twisters stars Daisy Edgar-Jones and Glen Powell as two very different people – a shaken scientist and a reckless social media superstar – who join forces to test a groundbreaking new tornado tracking system. But that means heading to central Oklahoma as multiple storm systems converge. In addition to conventional cinemas, Twisters is also screening at IMAX, Xtreme and sensorial 4DX.

Described as this generation’s The Silence of the Lambs, is horror thriller Longlegs. Maika Monroe plays fledgling FBI agent Lee Harker, who is assigned to an unsolved serial killer case with occult leanings. Realising a personal connection to the elusive murderer known as Longlegs (Nicolas Cage), Harker must act quickly to prevent him striking again. Longlegs is directed by Gretel & Hansel’s Osgood Perkins, the son of Psycho star Anthony.

Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum star in period romantic comedy drama Fly Me to the Moon. During the 1960s Space Race between the United States and the Soviet Union, a relationship develops between the NASA director in charge of the Apollo 11 launch and the marketing specialist brought in to fix NASA’s public image. Things come to a head when they’re ordered to stage a “back-up” fake moon landing in the event that the pivotal mission fails.
