Who is brave enough to stand their ground in front of a giant sandworm? One little animated adventure apparently. Because this week at South African cinemas, movie lovers have just two new choices: DUNE: PART TWO and The Jungle Bunch 2: World Tour. Find out about them both below.
The wait is over. In sci-fi epic DUNE: PART TWO, filmmaker Denis Villeneuve takes audiences back to the arid world Arrakis and continues the story that is the foundation of Frank Herbert’s highly influential novel series. Following the events of the first film, Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet), now united with Chani (Zendaya) and the desert dwelling Fremen, seeks revenge against the Harkonnens, the rival noble house that destroyed his family and has subjugated the planet. Joining the all-star cast, which already includes Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Dave Bautista, Javier Bardem and Stellan Skarsgård, are Austin Butler, Florence Pugh and Christopher Walken. In addition to conventional cinemas, the 166-minute DUNE: PART TWO will also be screening at IMAX and Nu Metro Xtreme.
Look out for our review of DUNE: PART TWO soon.
The Jungle Bunch 2: World Tour (AKA The Jungle Bunch 2: Operation Meltdown) continues the adventures that kicked off back in 2017, at least on the big screen. Turns out French-made The Jungle Bunch is based on an animated series. In this installment, a villainous beaver blankets the jungle with a dangerous pink substance that reacts when exposed to water. Our team of animal heroes must hurry to find an antidote to this unusual chemical, which takes them from the North Pole to the East, across mountains and seas.
