The much-hyped and clunkily-titled Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is our biggest release this week. But, if you’re looking for madness of a different, more British and reality-bound kind, have a look at the crazy true story of Operation Mincemeat.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness
Directed by Sam Raimi and featuring all the campy horror you would expect, the latest addition to Phase Four of the MCU features Doctor Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) continuing his research on the Time Stone in the aftermath of Spider-Man: No Way Home.
An old friend turned enemy seeks to destroy every sorcerer on Earth, messing with Strangeʼs plan and also causing him to unleash unspeakable evil after casting a forbidden spell. It’s a thrilling ride through the Multiverse with Doctor Strange, his trusted friend Wong (Benedict Wong) and Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen), aka Scarlet Witch.
Operation Mincemeat
Based upon Ben Macintyre’s book on the British Operation Mincemeat during the Second World War, Operation Mincemeat is the true story of two British intelligence officers who hatch an outlandish scheme to misdirect the Nazis and alter the course of World War II, involving forged documents, fake correspondence and a single dead body.
Directed by John Madden, Operation Mincemeat stars Colin Firth, Kelly Macdonald, Matthew Macfadyen, Penelope Wilton, Johnny Flynn, and Jason Isaacs.
